Summary

Ethernet technology is used in the LAN to perform the functions of connection and transmission. The WiFi technology allows a radio access to the LAN. The WAN is built in three parts : the access network, the aggregation network and the core network. The access network implements xDSL and EFM technology. The aggregation network uses an evolution of Ethernet technology to suit the constraints of the operators. The core network implements MPLS to provide VPN service level 2 or level 3. It is also making a presentation of multicast flow control.

Author Biography

André Perez is a consultant and trainer in networks and telecommunications who defines the implementation of operator networks. He also teaches QoS technologies in engineering schools.
