Author Biography

Michiko Chiba: President of the magazine publishing company A.D. Summer's, which owns, among many other publications, the highly successful Dog Days and Dog Fan. She is also a lecturer and a member of the board of directors of the White Shepherd Association. Yuichi Tanabe: Professor Emeritus of Gifu University. His research in the area of animal genetics (notably in study of the DNA of dog breeds throughout Asia) has brought him many awards, including the Research Award of the Society for Zootechnical Science of Japan and the Yomiuri Agricultural Award Takashi Tojo: A member since 1964 of the Akita Inu Hozonkai, he served as an official judge with that organization for fourteen years, from 1971 to 1985. He is also a member of Nippo, the Japan Kennel Club, and the Nihonken Group Club Tsutomu Muraoka: A director and contributing editor of A.D. Summer's, he launched two magazines (Dog Days and Dog Fan) in the year 2000. He is a director of the Japan Dog Walk Association (a charitable organization that raises funds for AIDS research) and chairman of the annual Japan Sheepdog Trials
