Author Biography

Philip W. Jackson is the David Lee Shillinglaw Distinguished Service Professor in the Departments of Education and Psychology at the University of Chicago. A past president of the John Dewey Society, he is the winner of the American Educational Studies Association 1998 Critics' Choice Award for outstanding contributions to an area related to educational studies.
