Summary

A strong sense of mystery has always surrounded the topic of God's Holy Spirit. Theologians in general have felt far more comfortable writing about the other persons of the Trinity, especially Jesus the Son, who lived among us as one of us. This mystery notwithstanding, the Bible links the presence of the Holy Spirit with power, truth, Christian unity, and the hope of the future. In this volume, accessible both to scholars and laypersons, theologian Molly Marshall offers fresh and creative insights with the goal of enabling readers to understand the importance and relevance of the Holy Spirit in the lives of individuals and in the life of the church, as well as to the whole creative process. Ultimately, she invites readers to a deeper spirituality, informed by a greater understanding of the person and role of the Holy Spirit, who makes possible human participation in the life of God.
