My name is Jorge Oramas and I am known as the painter of light. My life was marked by the imprint of illness and poverty. However, despite all the darkness of my life, my work exudes luminosity and joy. In this book, I invite you to know my story: a story marked by adversity, but also by beauty. I painted everything I could and portrayed with intense colors the island where I was born, Gran Canaria. I dyed my life in gray with vivid tones, and that is why I became one of the most important artists of 20th century Canarian painting.

Author Biography

Since she was a child, she has been fascinated by stories with drawings that invite you to get lost in them, those storybooks that are a pleasure to go back to and reread, or even to turn the pages and enjoy their landscapes, colors and characters. A few years later, she keeps coming back to them, already with worn corners, and she keeps coming back to so many others that do the same for her. Her goal as an illustrator and also her great illusion is to make those books, to create on paper those spaces so that others can enter them and dream, have fun, learn, empathize, cry and, in short, live Santiago Gil (Guí a de Gran Canaria, 1967) holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid.
