Author Biography

David Welch is Professor of Modern History and Director of the Centre for the Study of War at the University of Kent, UK. His main research interest is in twentieth-and twentieth-century German history, focusing on the relationship between public opinion, politics and propaganda in German society. Jo Fox is Professor of Modern History at Durham University in the UK and is a specialist in the history of film and propaganda in twentieth-century Europe. She has published on the cinematic cultures of Britain and Germany during the Second World War and is the author of Film Propaganda in Britain and Nazi Germany: World War II Cinema (2007).
