Author Biography

Ten-time Grammy Award winner Kanye West began his career producing hits for such major R&B artists as Jay-Z and Janet Jackson before achieving triple platinum success on his own. The son of a Black Panther and former English professor, West is known for his sociopolitical lyrics and for sampling from a wide variety of genres. He attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and is steeped in current trends in art, design, electronics, fashion, and architecture.
