Die Kleine Grammatik des Altislandischen ist als Lehr- und Lernbehelf fur den akademischen Unterricht konzipiert. Das Werk vermittelt Grundlagenwissen uber Vorstufen, Uberlieferung und Phonemsystem des Altislandischen. Das Hauptaugenmerk gilt der Flexionsmorphologie; in einem besonderen Kapitel werden Lautwandelprozesse behandelt, die fur das Verstandnis der komplexen Formen des Altislandischen relevant sind. Ferner werden die Besonderheiten der Syntax analysiert. In Anhangen wird auf die Besonderheiten des Altnorwegischen, Altschwedischen und Altdanischen eingegangen. Eine umfangreiche Bibliographie, ein Wortregister und ein Kleines Lexikon sprachwissenschaftlicher Termini beschliessen die Darstellung. Ein Lesebuch (mit ausgewahlten Texten und Glossar) ist in Vorbereitung.
