When high school students think of college life, images of parties and new people and late-night pizza instantly come to mind. Only upon moving in does a freshman realize the buzz-killing downside to the blissful freedom: a 12 x 12 dorm room often shared with a stranger. WithKnack Dorm Living, Casey Lewisherself a college senior at the University of Missouriprovides the guide she searched for, in vain, in her freshman year. She offers invaluable tips on what to pack and what to buy, what to expect, decorating, clothes, and organizing time and money. This is an ideal high school graduation gift for high school seniorsboth girls and guysset to move away from home.

Author Biography

Casey is a college student by day, freelance writer by night. Despite growing up in a Midwestern town so small you literally can’t find Vogue for sale, she got her start covering teen fashion for About.com at age 13, then went on to create her own style website the following year. She is currently pursuing a journalism degree at the University of Missouri and spends every spare minute reading and writing about youth trends. When her head seems to be buried in college textbooks, you can probably find a magazine slipped into the binding. As a college student and frequent intern, Casey Lewis has lived in as many dorms as years of college she’s completed.

Casey has interned inNew York City at Conde Nast for two summers, at Teen Vogue in 2008 and Cookie magazine in 2009. She also wrote for YPulse and is currently the About.com guide to Proms.
