English summary: Colonial history is the focus of current debates and controversies in France, but also in Germany. If one looks beyond the political debates, the strong upturn noted in international research on the colonial history of the past twenty years becomes visible. Among the many publications, there are, however, very few that take into account comparative perspectives: In collaboration with young historians from Germany and France, a comparison of the methods and results of colonial history and an examination of the treatment of the respective other country provides a panorama of a century of German and French colonial policy and practice. The military apparatus, the internal security forces, but also scientists, economists, religious groups and journalists are the actors in this story. Furthermore, forms of violence and oppression are examined closely. Although the French and German colonial rule differed in their temporal and spatial extension, the juxtaposition of colonial projects and their implementation help expose the logic of the colonial experience. German and French text. German description: Die Kolonialgeschichte steht im Mittelpunkt aktueller Debatten und Polemiken in Frankreich, aber auch in Deutschland. Blickt man hinter die politischen Auseinandersetzungen, wird der starke Aufschwung sichtbar, den die internationale Forschung zur Kolonialgeschichte wahrend der vergangenen zwanzig Jahre genommen hat. Unter den zahlreichen Publikationen gibt es jedoch nur sehr wenige, die sich 'kreuzende' Perspektiven einnehmen: In Zusammenarbeit mit jungen Historikern aus Deutschland und Frankreich, einer Gegenuberstellung der Methoden und Ergebnisse der Kolonialgeschichtsschreibung und der Behandlung des jeweils anderen Landes ist hier das Panorama eines Jahrhunderts deutscher und franzosischer Kolonialpolitik und -praxis entstanden.Der Militarapparat, die inneren Ordnungskrafte, aber auch die Wissenschaftler, Okonomen, religiosen Gruppen und Journalisten sind die Akteure dieser Geschichte. Weiterhin werden Formen der Gewaltanwendung und Unterdruckung genau untersucht. Auch wenn die franzosische und deutsche Kolonialherrschaft verschieden in ihrer zeitlichen und raumlichen Erstreckung waren, tragt die Gegenuberstellung der kolonialen Projekte und ihrer Verwirklichung dazu bei, die Logik der kolonialen Erfahrung freizulegen.
