Mario Escobar es un exitoso novelista que ha vendido miles de libros alrededor del mundo y sus libros se han traducido a más de diez idiomas. Es ensayista, conferencista y licenciado en historia, con estudios avanzados en historia moderna. Ha escrito numerosos libros y artículos sobre la Inquisición, la Reforma protestante y sectas religiosas. Dirige la revista Nueva historia para el debate, además de ser el comunista en varias publicaciones. Apasionado sobre la historia y sis ministerios, Escobar a profundizado en la historia de la iglesia, en los distintos grupos sectarios que han luchado por ella y en el descubrimiento y colonización de América. En 2020 Mario fue el ganador del prestigioso premio Empik.
