Julia Durango escribe libros para niños de todas las edades en un pueblito a orillas del río Illinois. Entre sus libros más recientes está la serie The Second Guard Fantasy, escrito en coautoría con Tracie Zimmer bajo el seudónimo J. D. Vaughn, y su primera novela, titulada The Leveller. También escribió varios libros ilustrados, entre ellos Go-Go Gorillas y Yum! Yuck!, en coautoría con Linda Sue Park.

Julia Durango writes books for kids of all ages in a small town by the Illinois River. Recent books include The Second Guard fantasy series, co-authored with Tracie Zimmer under the name J. D. Vaughn, and her debut YA novel, The Leveller. She has also written several picture books, including Go-Go Gorillas and Yum! Yuck!, co-authored by Linda Sue Park.
