Chris Columbus es director de cine, productor y guionista. Es conocido por películas como Gremlins, Los Goonies, La señora Doubtfire y Solo en casa. La mansión de los secretos es su primera novela juvenil.

Ned Vizzini es escritor y ha vivido toda la vida en Nueva York. Siendo aún un adolescente, comenzó a escribir artículos para el New York Press, un periódico alternativo. Posteriormente ha publicado en la revista New York Times, así como varios libros juveniles.
