Summary

In this well-known hymn to boyhood, Tom Sawyer grows up in a small town on the Mississippi and gets into all sorts of childhood mischief. Tom and his friend Huck Finn venture into a nighttime graveyard, witness a murder, get lost in a cave, and get involved in a variety of adventures and mishaps. Beyond the high jinks, however, the novel also touches on darker themes, as Tom is forced to learn some difficult lessons about the often cruel and hypocritical rules that govern adult society. This American childhood story has become a classic and an all-time favorite, and this edition brings it to life with beautiful full-color illustrations in an elegant hardcover binding.
