DeMille, another filmmaker later joined the journey to L.A. because during the shooting of his film, The Squaw Man, the mountains of Arizona became snow covered and interfered with filming and continuity. Hence the beginning of Hollywood's illustrious film history. The first movie was shot in Hollywood in 1911, and by 1920, Hollywood had become a boom town and all the film companies were now making Hollywood the movie production capital of the world. Hollywood became legendary and has enjoyed a rich history. Movie stars lived lives in Hollywood that others could only dream of. Today Hollywood still maintains the mystic appeal it always has despite the film industry and celebrity residences now branching out throughout the L.A. area. Hollywood Blvd., it's famous Walk of Fame, and legendary Chinese Theatre have immortalized many of the celebrity names and times that built this magnificent, legendary city and made it what it remains today, a city of dreams.
