Summary

English summary: This book is the proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium of the Research Network on Narrative Analysis of Biblical Texts (RRENAB). Most of the contributions address the issue of development in the biblical story and critically approach the models proposed by theorists of narratology, starting with Aristotle's proposals in his Poetics. While these models are useful, the practice of narrative exegesis shows that in the Bible the plot is often marked by uncertainty and is unfulfilled: the characters do not have to comply with plans submitted by an immutable God, as they would in tragedy, but participate in the development of a dynamic and open process of interaction with the divine character along a frame where possibility remains open. This provides for a level of uncertainty, but where the freedom of narrators allows for a certain freedom for the reader. French text.
