Raising children is a full time job; I can't count the number
of times l've heard; "children don't come with
instructions," "You're lucky you're cute," "I think he/she is
hungry," "they must be tired," "I don't want to go home!"
These are just a few but you get the picture. Excuses for
children's behavior develops into patterns of behavior. It is
not easy to discipline children but it's a necessity. Children
need to gain coping skills, respect boundaries, and follow
simple directions to become happy, well rounded
individuals. In this A-Z guide, there are easy to follow
directions that will assist in combating undesired
behaviors and put you on the right path to gain the
confidence needed to discipline your children. Before you
start any behavior strategies there are a few things to
consider. behaviors will INCREASE before the DECREASE;
stay CONSISTENT in every approach, pick one behavior to
combat at a time, and follow through with any and all
strategies until your child consistently displays
appropriate responses (mastered the behavior.) You can
be friends with your children when they become adults,
for now it's your job to instill boundaries, make them be
accountable for undesired behaviors and to love and
cherish them!
