Partnering with the Adventure Guidewill make this aldready incredible allegory a reading event that your child or student will never forget. The Guidebreaks the novel down into 2 parts - Christian's journey and Christiana's journey. Each journey is separated into four reading sections. These reading sections include vocabulary, questions, allegorical interpretations, literature elements, Bible application, character charts and character matching. A Parent/Teacher Helps section is also included which offers detailed suggestions regarding story charts. In addition, a mapping bulletin board that can also be used as a game is included. Finally, his section will include several art and literature extensions. Many times literature activities are more closely related to busy work and can actually become a distraction from the story. However, in the Adventure Guideactivities and story extensions are meaningful and encourage further examination of story characters, themes, and symbolism. A brief biography of John Bunyan is also included to aide in discussion about the original classic, Pilgrim's Progress.

Author Biography

My name is DEANNA CONRAD. I have been married for 17 years to my husband Ryan and we have five energetic boys age's twelve to four. We have been a homeschooling family since our first son started kindergarten in 2005. We are also very involved in our church, homeschool coop, and various other community groups. We live in Bloomington, Indiana, which is also where I studied both education and special education at Indiana University. When I am not teaching the boys, a coop class, or at the local community college, I enjoy family events, friends, running, and camping.
