Author Biography

William G. Dever is professor emeritus of Near Eastern archaeology and anthropology at the University of Arizona, Tucson, and the foremost American authority on Syro-Palestinian archaeology, with more than fifty years of experience in the field. His other books include Who Were the Early Israelites and Where Did They Come From? and Did God Have a Wife? Archaeology and Folk Religion In Ancient Israel.
