Summary

While in the middle of a molecular-engineering experiment that could revolutionize modern medicine, Henry Pierce's workaholic habits finally drive his lover, Nicole, to break up with him. Lonely and depressed, he moves into a new apartment with a new telephone number that receives dozens of calls, but not for him. Investigative by nature, Henry tracks down the previous owner of the numberLilly Quinlan, an escort whose photo appears on the L.A. Darlings website. His curiosity is heightened, however, when he discovers that Lilly has gone missing.
