What is included with this book?
Richard E. Prince was born in 1920 and was raised in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Georgia School of Technology in Atlanta, graduating in 1942 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After working a year in the L& N Railroad South Louisville Shops as a special apprentice, he joined the Merchant Marines. He obtained his 3rdAssistant Engineer License and sailed during the war as 3rd engineer on steam Liberty ships. Prince returned to the L& N Railroad at South Louisville Shops where he became Assistant to the General Foreman in the steam back shop and roundhouse. In 1952 Prince joined the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Union Pacific Railroad and was sent to Green River, Wyoming, where he was part of the Gas Turbine Locomotive Staff for 15 years. In 1969 he transferred to the Omaha Mechanical Engineering Department of the UPRR. Prince retired in 1983, and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. His ten books on railroads have sold over 20,000 copies.
