Summary

This sourcebook is a compilation of primary source material on the longstanding topics of love, sex, and marriage. Chronologically it covers the entire Middle Ages, from the Church fathers in the 4th century to writings drawn from the 15th and 16th centuries. While the heart of the book is in medieval England, it does cover the rest of Europe. Sources are drawn from ecclesiastical wrings, legal sources, personal writing, and medical writings.
