For his myth-busting The Mafia at War, he carried out extensive archival research in London, New York, Washington, and Sicily. He has also worked as a TV scriptwriter and historical consultant, resulting in seven TV documentary series for BBC Worldwide and the History Channel, including the thirteen-part TV series Hitler's Bodyguard.
