The British Russ Meyer, between 1967 and 1983 Walker directed 16 films, all but one self-financed. Beginning his career by making 'skinflicks', Walker went on to direct a trio of bona fide horror film classics. This is the first major critical study of the controversial director, based on a huge interview, and a wealth of previously unpublished photographs, stills, and publicity material. It reveals, too, for the first time, details of the Sex Pistols' movie - A Star Is Dead - which Walker was about to direct when the Pistols split.
