Summary

This book brings together leading academics within management, organization studies and sociology to explore the relationship between management and everyday life. The contributing authors all consider the extent to which the theories, discourses and techniques associated with the practices and values of management are increasingly shaping the management of life outside of work. In doing so, they look to reflect critically on why this might be the case and what implications this may have for our everyday lived experiences of self and society. The book helps students to reflect critically on the relationship between management and changes in the organization of work, whilst acknowledging the impact of management on the lived experience of everyday life.
