Author Biography

VERONICA COULSHED was Head of Applied Social Studies at the University of Sunderland, UK before her untimely death in 1992.

AUDREY MULLENDER is Principal of Ruskin College, Oxford, UK. She was previously Professor of Social Work at the University of Warwick, UK. She has been Editor of the British Journal of Social Work and has produced well over a hundred publications in the social work field, including over a dozen books.

MARGARET MCGLADE is an Independent Consultant in Health, Social Care, and Children's Services. She has previously held the post of Director of Social Services in Derby and has experience of chairing Local Safeguarding Boards and first casereviews.
