Summary

Women only constitute 13 per cent of the construction industry workforce in the UK, and an extremely high proportion of them can be found in clerical, secretarial and administrative jobs. Only 1.9 per cent of construction workers are black or Asian, although these groups represent 6.4 per cent of the working population.
