Excerpts

"Held in Windsor's Lake Pizaquid, the Pumpkin Regatta starts with a parade of suitably equipped pumpkins, which have been hollowed out in preparation for the race. Accompanying them on their floats are the paddling crews in equally laughable costumes. The race then gets under way, with a number of heats run throughout the afternoon. Amazingly, quite a few of the giant pumpkins do manage to reach the finish line before sinking."
