Author Biography

MACKIE SHILSTONE is a special advisor to the United States Olympic Committee on Sports Nutrition, a consultant to the Umpire Medical Services division of Major League Baseball, the Ochsner Clinic Foundation’s Performance Enhancement Expert at Elmwood Fitness Center, and Director of Health and Fitness for the Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute. He has appeared on the Today show, Good Morning America, and HBO, and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and USA Today. He hosts two daily features on WWL radio, a 50,000-watt station broadcasting out of New Orleans, and owns four GNC franchises in Louisiana.
