Summary

Meeting Your Interests: Collaborative Divorce and Other Options for Dispute Resolution explores different methods of dispute resolution, including the collaborative process from beginning to end in a succinct and clear discussion. You'll discover how collaborative professionals can help you reach the most efficient, least emotionally destructive, and most dignified outcome possible for all parties. The book contains descriptions of the processes most often used to resolve disputes, and the pros and cons associated with each. Processes include (1) "kitchen-table" negotiation, which takes place between the parties themselves, (2) the collaborative process and the structure it follows to create successful resolutions, (3) litigation, which is the traditional process that occurs in court, and (4) mediation, which includes a neutral third-party mediator and can occur within any of the prior three frameworks. Since the collaborative process is the newest of these options, the process itself receives detailed description so that the reader can visualize the process from its inception through its conclusion.
