Summary

The book will break down the various technologies, what they really mean to an organization in terms of solving problems, saving money and enhancing the capabilities of the organization. How the technologies work will be explained and best practices about their deployment and design will be key including case studies where appropriate. While the book will focus on Microsoft solutions key Microsoft partners such as Citrix, Quest, AppSense will also be covered to ensure organizations understand how to get the best possible solution. There will be various "take note" sections that would focus on "How to explain this and sell to the CEO" giving a summary that C level executives would care about including TCO and "Geeking out" which may be highly technical. These take note sections would be at most 1 page but more commonly half a page. Key topics: Machine Virtualization focusing on Hyper-V including changes in Windows 8 Application and User virtualization enabling consumerization of IT and Bring your own PC in addition to enabling businesses to be more flexible and ready in the case of site disasters Private cloud scenarios, what a private cloud really means and the technologies needed to implement in your organization Enabling VDI in your organization and more importantly, do you really need it Where appropriate each chapter will also have links to 1 or more videos which may have a presentation around the topic, a demonstration or a walkthrough of configuration and use.
