Milton Friedman was born in 1912 to parents who had emigrated from Europe for the freedom and opportunity to work hard and become successful. He earned a scholarship and worked his way through college. Author Biography

Cynthia D. Crain and her husband, Dwight R. Lee, have co-authored many books and articles on economics education. Ms. Crain holds a doctorate degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and has more than thirty years of teaching experience. Mr. Lee received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego, and currently holds the William J. O'Neil Chair of Global Markets and Freedom in the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas.
