Author Biography

ANNE TRINE KJHOLT is Director and Associate Professor at the Norwegian Centre for Child Research, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway. Her research interests are discourses on childhood, children's rights and citizenship, early childhood education and care. Kjrholt's publications include Beyond Listening: Children's Perspectives in Early ChildhoodServices (co-edited); Flexible Childhood? Exploring Children's Welfare in Time and Space, Children's Welfare (co-edited); Global Childhoods: Globalization, Development and Young People (co-edited).

JENS QVORTRUP is Professor of Sociology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and former Director of the Norwegian Centre for Child Research, Trondheim, Norway. He has written extensively on childhood and his publications include Childhood Matters, Childhood and Children's Culture, Studies in Modern Childhood and The Modern Child and the Flexible Labour Market.
