Author Biography

Frank Browning is an American author and correspondent for National Public Radio. His books include The American Way of Crime: From Salem to Watergate (1980), The Culture of Desire: Paradox and Perversity in Gay Lives Today (1993), A Queer Geography: Journeys Toward a Sexual Self (1996) and Apples: Story of the Fruit of Temptation (1996). He is also co-author with Sharon Silva of a cookbook, An Apple Harvest: Recipes and Orchard Lore (1999). He currently lives in Paris, France where he continues to report for National Public Radio and writes regularly for a number of American magazines.
