Georgia navigated the back roads of New Mexico in a Model A Ford, and it is said that she was undaunted by her frightened driving teachers, who told her she was the worst driver they had ever seen. Unconcerned, Georgia drove through the desert she was growing to love, stopping frequently to paint what she saw using the unbolted front seat of her Model A as an easel.
