Author Biography

Currently serving as a faculty member at The City College of San Francisco, recordings of his original works with Julliard soprano Judy Hubbell were proclaimed a "significant contribution to the literature" by the Guitar Foundation of America. His studio work for Vanguard Records in New York and Los Angeles landed him on "Wire" magazine's top 100 list of 'albums that scorched the earth in the 20th Century.' He also founded Guitar and World Music programs at the University of California, Santa Cruz and Santa Clara University.
