Summary

In this innovative series of public lectures at Newcastle University, leading contemporary poets speak about the craft and practice of poetry giving readers everywhere the opportunity to learn what the poets themselves observe about their discipline. In this edition, Fiona Sampson locates and describes the analogies shared by poetry and music.

Author Biography

Fiona Sampson was first a concert violinist, then studied at the Universities of Oxford, where she won the Newdigate Prize, and Nijmegen, where she received a PhD in the philosophy of language.
