Author Biography

Betsy Byars is the author of many acclaimed and well-loved books for children, including the Newbery Award-winning The Summer of the Swans. Ms. Byars lives in Clemson, South Carolina.

Betsy Duffey has written over 15 books for children,. most for middle-grade readers. She lives in Augusta, Georgia.

Laurie Myers's books include three middle-grade novels. She is presently working on a children's book about Meriwether Lewis's dog, who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their explorations. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Loren Long has illustrated greeting cards, book jackets and magazine. This is his first children's book. He lives near Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife and their two sons.
