Summary

Doc Thibeault is a retired combat medic with deployments to Desert Storm in 1990 and Afghanistan during Enduring Freedom. This book is the celebration of the combat medic. The author's experiences as a combat medic during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and fifteen years later during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan certainly qualify him to tell the story of the combat medic, and he feels that the story of the modern-day combat medic is not being told. Patrick writes about growing up as an Army brat and about dealing with posttraumatic stress disorder. Looking back, he remembered those old seasoned medics that he would look to for advice and inspiration. Enough stories and documentaries have been written about the surgeons in combat hospitals. A true story needs to be told about the medics who took care of the wounded first.
