Author Biography

Alicia Collins has a BS in Mathematics from Arizona State University and a Masters in Mathematics Education from Northern Arizona University. She taught high school mathematics for 8 years at Paradise Valley High School and moved on to Maricopa Community College District in 2005. She is currently on the mathematics faculty at Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ. Alicia is married with three children.

 

Denise Nunley has a BS in Mathematics from University of Nevada—Reno and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. She taught high school mathematics for 6 years at Paradise Valley High School before pursuing a PhD in mathematics education from Arizona State University, where she was both a research assistant and a teaching assistant for pre-service secondary mathematics teachers. ABD in her PhD program, Denise was hired on with Maricopa Community College District, where she has been on the mathematics faculty for the past 10 years, both at Glendale Community College and at Scottsdale Community College - her current position - in Arizona where she lives with her two children. She is currently involved in a NSF grant working with professional development for middle school teachers.
