Author Biography

Author David Veasey was raised in Chatham, Morris County, and has spent most of his adult life in New Jersey, now residing in Morris Plains. He has a long-time interest in the state’s history and its physical and human diversity, which is reflected in this book and two others he wrote, one on New Jersey lighthouses and life-saving stations, the other on Revolutionary War battles of Trenton and Princeton. Veasey has a BA from Drew University, Madison, NJ, and a Master’s Degree from New York University. He has worked as a writer in various settings from journalism, including articles about New Jersey for The New York Times, to Madison Avenue, to The United Nations, to financial writing for Moody’s Investors Service.
