Excerpts

Native Americans talk about "Sasquatch" and Tibetans have their "Abominable Snowman." Here in northwestern California powerful creatures of similar stature rule the wild Siskiyou and Kalmath Mountains between Willow Creek and Happy Camp. According to a scattering of unconfirmed reports, these "Bigfoot" creatures stand about 8 feet tall and weigh 500 pounds or more, with a light covering of body hair that easily distinguishes them from the furry brown bears common in the area. Those who claim to have spotted a Bigfoot, usually peeking through the trees or around rocks near a campsite, describe their high-ptched voices and wild, flaring nostrils.
