Before she became an award-winning children’s book illustrator, Violet Lemay’s artwork was primarily seen in newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, Gotham magazine, and Time Out New York. And before that she was busy sewing Elizabethan sleeves and painting scenery for stage productions in and around NYC.
