Author Biography

As a young man, Josh McDowell believed that Christianity was worthless. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered the compelling, overwhelming evidence for the power of Gods love. In 1961 Josh joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International and has since spoken to more than ten million young people in 118 countries. In 1991 Josh founded Operation Carelift to meet the physical and spiritual needs of orphans that has since delivered food, clothing, and medical supplies worth more than $46, 000, 000, reaching nearly a million children. Operation Carelift, which has grown into in one of the largest humanitarian aid organizations based in the United States, is now a part of Global Aid Network (GAIN USA). Josh is the author of 110 books including the best sellers More Than a Carpenter and New Evidence that Demands a Verdict. Dave Sterrett has ministered to students and educators with Josh McDowell in Russia, Poland, and the United States. Sterrett also partners with Probe Ministries International in Piano, Texas and teaches on Christ-centered living and Christian apologetics at conferences, schools, and churches internationally. His book Why Trust Jesus? will be published by Moody Publishers in 2010. Dave Sterrett is a graduate of Oak Hill Academy, Liberty University (B.S. Religion), and Southern Evangelical Seminary (M.A. Apologetics). Before working with Probe Ministries, Sterrett served Immanuel Baptist as pastor and taught philosophy, ethics, and Bible at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas.
