Author Biography

E. John B. Allen is an emeritus professor of history at Plymouth State College, Plymouth, New Hampshire, and historian for the New England Ski Museum, Franconia, New Hampshire Cheryl L. Cole is associate professor of kinesiology, sociology, and women's studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Trace A. DeMeyer has spent most of the past five years writing for News from Indian Country, a national independent Native-owned newspaper, and has been editor of the regional newspaper Ojibwe Akiing, based on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation in Wisconsin. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater from the University of Wisconsin-Superior George Eisen is a professor of sociology and history at Amherst College Lynn Embrey is a senior lecturer in the School of Biomedical and Sports Science at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia Darren J. Godwell is a research fellow with the Centre for Indigenous Natural and Cultural Resource Management in Australia Allen Guttmann teaches at Amherst College C.
