Author Biography

Bill Martin, Jr. has been writing children's books for more than twenty-five years. He is a former elementary school principal and a teacher, writer, and poet. Bill Martin is the author of many acclaimed books, including Knots on a Counting Rope, The Ghost-Eye Tree, and the best-selling Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You Hear? He lives in Texas.

Eric Carle's numerous books, including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, are beloved by children around the world. Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You Hear? was the first book he illustrated. He lives in western Massachusetts.

Theresa Mlawer is a widely respected translator and the president of Lectorum Publications, the largest distributor in the United States of children's books in Spanish.
