Summary

OUBEY's art flows from a free spirit whose zest for searching knows no boundaries. For the very first time, MINDKISS shows a small section of OUBEY's artistic lifework, which has never been seen in public before. It evolved over three decades, never following the rules of the art market but only Oubey's own inner voice. When, after a long interval, OUBEY finally began considering the possibility of a new exhibition, he was killed in a traffic accident in August, 2004, at the age of 46. Posthumously, the MINDKISS project is now implementing his plan. Many people are collaborating on this project, foremost among them New York graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister, who designed this book, and the art journalist Paolo Bianchi from Zurich, Switzerland, who wrote the text for this book together with Dagmar Woyde-Koehler, OUBEY's partner.
