This second volume of Dali's collected essays ranges chronologically from his attempted takeover of the Surrealist movement in Paris, to his final years of celebrity in New York. Further developing his conception of "Paranoid-Criticism", Dali expounds on such fantastical subjects as non-Euclidean psychology, spectral sex appeal, and the aerodynamics of blackheads. Included are what many consider to be his most important theoretical texts, the critical-poetic essay, "The Conquest of the Irrational", and the paranoiac poem "The Metamorphosis of Narcissus".
