Author Biography

Gracie Hall was born and raised on a farm in northwestern Ohio. Tiny villages and distant islands of trees dot the landscape, and grassy creeks meander through the fields and pastures toward the Sandusky River. The area resembles the beautiful valleys described in Our Crystal World. Gracie spent many hours during her childhood roaming this pleasant countryside.

Now she lives in a nearby city surrounded by fields of corn, wheat, and soybeans, where future use of the land is being hotly debated. Will hundreds of acres be converted to industrial use, or will the fertile farmland be protected and conserved for future generations? Or, with careful planning, can both somehow occur?
