Despite ethnography's long and distinguished history in the social sciences, its use in criminology is still relatively rare. Kevin D. Haggerty is Canada Research Chair, Killam Research Laureate, and Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Alberta.

Luca Berardi is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Social Psychology at McMaster University.
